WHAT: Cassata opening
WHERE: Cassata, Uplands
WHY: New Italian cafe
Cassata, in Uplands, celebrated its opening with a party. Guests, who included former Swansea City player Lee Trundle, and writer and entertainer Mal Pope indulged in 18 flavours of ice cream that are all made on the premises.
The cafe will serve locally sourced food, including frozen yoghurt, sorbets, pizza, lunch and breakfast treats, plus a great selection in quality coffee.
Cassata is the latest venture by Dennis and Irena Dwyer, who have run Ripples cafe on the seafront between West Cross and Mumbles for 13 years.
Dennis says: "We chose Uplands as it is free from coffee chains, and with the farmers' market, locally owned bars and cafes, it is a vibrant and exciting place to start a new business."
